Tiderace Sea Kayaks by Nelo

Tiderace are now being manufactured by European powerhouse Nelo, so an innovative brand with an emphasis on performance in the sea is even better. Designed by renowned British paddler Aled Williams these boats have pedigree, and reflect an emphasis on hull shape & what it means in the dynamic environment of the ocean.

Pace 17 S Tour

A low volume version of the ground-breaking Tiderace Pace 17 Tour, designed for paddlers in the 50kg-80kg range. The same length as the 17, with marginally less beam, but ergonomics scaled down to provide proper boat fit for smaller framed people. Pace 17 Tour

The latest arrival in the Tiderace range, and in our eyes the most keenly anticipated. Why? To us, the idea of a fast plumb bow touring sea kayak, with enough rocker and stability to look after a paddler with average ability, and enough room for a multi day trip, stretching to multi week, has occupied our thinking since we first started to get our heads around boats like the Rockpool Taran & the improved Epic 18X. We are confident that the new Pace Tour 17 will allow entry to the world of fast touring boats to paddlers who have yet to bring their skills up to the levels required to get the most out of some of the established kayak designs in this genre. A very exciting development and the sign of things to come in the sea kayak expedition market. You can read the full specs, weights & graphics on the Pace 17 Tour HERE.

Pace Action

Short, manoeuvrable, manageable & light off the water with a terminal hull speed over 9kmh, as fast as nearly any of our traditional shaped sea kayaks. Suited to a lighter paddler, another Tiderace design that completely explodes the myth that boats need waterline length to be fast & efficient. The stock layup is the G-core Lite, which utilises a biaxial glass cloth within the heart of the laminate, encapsulating the core material. Vortex

Like its cousin the Xtra, the Vortex is an excellent design for rock-hopping, surfing and tidal play – The polyethylene construction is ideal for new comers to sea kayaking or those looking to take their kayak into rock gardens or surf. Generous width gives the Vortex a high initial and secondary stability – this inspires confidence in less experienced paddlers who wish to improve their skills. Add the Vortex to your quiver of Tiderace boats for a performance playboat for you and a stable, well-mannered sea kayak you can put your friends in! Xceed

Brand new for 2018, derived from the all-time great skeg boat the Xcite, but with a little more speed and trouring capacity. The XCEED is a family of skeged expedition kayaks which will replace the older designs in the Tiderace range. The versatile XCEED builds on the success of the Xcite, Xplore and Xcape series to become a refined new generation of sea kayak which will deliver the touring and expedition performance that Tiderace paddlers have enjoyed.

Xcite S

The Xcite is Tiderace’s original playboat for the sea. It surfs, it carves, it edges. It’s the enthusiast’s boat of choice. Easily capable of light touring, the Xcite’s ease of turning and stability also makes it the adventurer’s favourite ‘go-anywhere’ and ‘take-on-anything’ sea kayak. The Xcite has ample speed to get you to the remotest locations and a seaworthy design which lets you enjoy the rough-stuff along the way. The cockpit ergonomics transfer a wealth of feedback back to the paddler making the Xcite a true paddler’s boat. The compact size of the Xcite S makes it an excellent rolling kayak – in the right hands, this boat is capable of performing all the competition Greenland rolls!
